Dr. Christopher Wolverton, Artistic Director
Although a physicist by trade, Dr. Wolverton is the son of a musicologist, and began studies of violin, piano, and music
theory at an early age, with vocal study beginning much later. While living in Berkeley, he performed with early music
groups and also the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. After a move to Colorado, he sang professionally with the St. John's
Cathedral Choir and the Ars Nova Singers, and also performed extensively with St. Martin's Chamber Choir, now Denver's
only fully-professional choir. Dr. Wolverton has performed under the baton of such early-music luminaries as Andrew
Parrott, Peter Phillips, Nicholas McGegan, John Nelson, and Philip Brett. He has appeared on three Grammy-nominated
recordings, one of which won the 1996 Grammy for Best Choral Recording. He also appears on the soundtrack of
"Godfather III".
Dr. Wolverton and his wife (and founder of Vox), Whitnie, share their home with their three dogs, Bella, Lilly, and Mollie.
